We’ve been living in the house for three weeks now, and it feels more and more like home every day. We’ve done a lot of unpacking and setting up, and the workers continue to finish off items that move the house closer to completion.
The exterior has now been painted the right colors, though much of the trim still needs to be done. The last set of cabinets, in the living room, has been installed, though there’s still some finishing to be done. Lots of little details have been completed by our terrific carpenters. We’ve set up furniture in the rooms and unpacked scores of boxes. Robin has done lots of cleaning. And with the help of our friend Rob Schouten, we’ve hung some paintings.
Below are some photos of how things look now. More changes are still to come, including completion of the driveway, installation of mirrors and shower doors, completion of the screened porch, and installation of the generator.
This weekend the house will be on a tour of homes built by local builders.
Meanwhile, we are off for a three-week trip to Europe. More about that in future posts.
